I can’t tell you how thankful I am for Senator Rand Paul and his efforts to hold government officials accountable for their actions. He was the main driver making today’s hearings related to the origins of SARS-CoV-2 possible. This was a bipartisan committee hearing, but his relentless pursuit of truth has ensured our government’s lies are not memory-holed out of existence. He is one of just a handful of government officials willing to hold our government, our political class, and our bureaucrats to account for their actions.
I am one of many government bureaucrats who desperately want accountability. To steal a term from my friend, “recovering FBI Special Agent” Kyle Seraphin, we need radical transparency. Kyle is another guy who got it long before most people… He got it well before I figured it out, and I like to think I am on the far right of the bell curve.
Kyle righteously pushes limits and forces people to face truth head on. He makes people uncomfortable and does it with a smile. He reminds me (us) that bold leadership is the only thing that can punch through the typical mediocre malaise displayed by government employees desperate to avoid disrupting their biweekly salary. We need more Kyles and more Senator Pauls.
I had a supervisor in an overseas post say in no uncertain terms, while detailing his expectations related to my job performance,
“Jim, if I am not breathing in a paper bag, you aren’t being aggressive enough.”
Challenge accepted!
I’m not sure he knew just how many paper bags I was willing to make him burn through, and to his credit… He reliably stood by his officers and their decisions. He was the kind of example we all hope we have as a boss, and I suspect the American public expects leaders in the intelligence community to take these type of brave, moral stands in defense of our country. I was praised for risk taken wisely and if that risk didn’t pay off, he took the heat while I was forced to take corrective action. A lot of brown paper bags littered his office.
I have a feeling if Kyle was my direct report, I would have had brain damage from the hyperventilation. A little brain damage amongst friends is a small price to pay for righteous defense of the Republic.
What exactly did Kyle mean by radical transparency?
He isn’t talking about calling out our enemies. We have strategic rivals, economic competition, and geopolitical battles that span the globe. That might be part of our radical transparency problem, but I digress…
It isn’t complicated for the average American and I suspect government employees get it too, but they are more comfortable engaging in willful ignorance. Radical transparency is a truthful accounting of success and failure, followed by self reflection and course correction.
We can’t blame others for our failures and we should never claim credit for a success that wasn’t by design. After over 25 years of federal government service, I feel more than qualified to tell you… Many of our biggest successes were despite ourselves and often because there were a handful of people willing to speak out of turn, toss rice bowls, and laugh in the face of convention.
Today’s Senate Homeland Security Hearing on the origins of SARS-CoV-2 is vital for the health of our country. Senator Paul wants average Americans to understand our own government’s role in the origins of SARS-CoV-2 and the failed health response. We can’t correct our mistakes if we foolishly ignore the US Government’s role in funding Gain of Function (GoF) research, our whole-of-government coordinated cover-up, and subsequent censorship of alternate views in violation of the first Amendment.
We must look at our failures with clear eyes, uncompromising integrity, and radical transparency. We must be able to speak openly about our failures. Too many people died from the virus. The poorest and least advantaged among us suffered most. Our grandparents were left to die alone and our children were denied the companionship of their peers while bureaucrats implemented policies that destroyed our economy, delayed social and education development, and caused second order health effects far worse than the pandemic.
Despite Senator Paul’s best efforts, there are still some that don’t get it. I won’t spend a lot of time giving you the blow-by-blow, because a majority of the hearing was exactly what we needed. We got a taste of radical transparency and I like to believe, most Americans are hopeful the other hearings will build on this sound foundation.
You know who doesn’t get it? Mitt Romney.
Instead of using this as an opportunity for self-reflection and real accountability, he still seemed to question the value of looking into the origins of SARS-CoV-2. He was sure to let the viewers know he blamed China. Don’t get me wrong, you can’t have a coronavirus pop into existence just outside the premiere coronavirus research facility in the world, that just so happens to reside in Wuhan, China, and not realize China has a role in the drama, but…. This hearing was about the role the United States Government played in the origins of SARS-CoV-2.
By the way, he isn’t stupid. Romney knows what he is doing. There are powerful forces fighting against the kind of radical transparency needed to heal our broken bureaucracy. Those same forces are more than happy to steal the deck chairs off the Titanic while it sinks. We deserve better. We deserve politicians like Rand Paul and civil servants like Kyle.

Why won't Rand Paul & Ron Johnson bring in whistleblowers Dr. David Martin, former big pharma R & D experts Karen Kingston, and Sasha Latypova, (found on Rumble & Substack) and their group of scientist, doctors, & coroners who have
pulled the CIA / DoD gain-of-function research & the patents showing that Corona viruses SARS-CoV-(1) &

Apparently the late Netherland filmmaker Janet Ossebaard was also disturbed by her COVID research and the trail of satanical evil exposed in her docuseries " The Fall of the Cabal"
