2024 is going to be the year that we sally forth and do good deeds!
Thank you for all the support you have given to the freedom movement. I wanted to provide an update on my plans for 2024. I am cleaning up and organizing my various responsibilities. Aside from personal requirements to family and friends that have been woefully neglected over the last few years, I have plans that are hopefully of interest to all of you.
Feds for Freedom
As you know, I am currently serving as Vice President of Feds for Freedom (F4F). As a cofounder, I want to see the organization flourish long after I depart. I will address fund raising using communications from the organization, but suffice to say, we are in immediate need of donations. In my role as VP, however, I primarily engage in an operational role.
Operations team: I have been lucky enough to find some volunteers to help build F4F’s operational team. F4F has refined our approach to medical freedom by identifying and developing strategies to attack the core problems that led to Executive Orders 14042 and 14043. Vaccine mandates were a result of decades of apathy, willful ignorance, and … planning on the part of unscrupulous actors. F4F’s OPs team will be meeting on a regular basis to develop plans that address the core failures and address these issues. If you would like to join that team, reach out to me at jim@fedsforfreedom.org.
Our operational plans often results in outreach to legislative partners and sometimes it requires litigation. We have litigation planned in 2024.
Pronoun litigation: Speech and Religious Freedom are fundamental rights afforded every American citizen. Mandated pronoun policy has been implemented in various degrees across the federal government. Free speech protects your right to disagree and it protects freedom of thought. When we are forced to state something we believe is fundamentally untrue, we must engage in self-censorship. It often runs counter to our deeply held beliefs. F4F has identified pro bono legal support and intends to pursue this issue, either in court or administratively. If you would like to participate, please send us a message at: jim@fedsforfreedom.org.
Truthful discourse free from coercion is the only way one can engage in healthy dialogue. Mandated pronoun policy degrades the quality of communication, harms the mental health of colleagues, and destroys transparency. Do you know what improves government transparency?
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA): F4F submitted a few hundred FOIAs. This process is laborious, time-consuming, and … broken. Agencies and Departments have weaponized the process to ensure it remains difficult to get at information of value. We learned the hard way. F4F’s focus in 2024 will be on processing information we have received and only submit high impact FOIAs in the future. We learned a great deal about how to effectively run a FOIA campaign, and I believe it will pay of in the year to come. There are a couple juicy FOIAs being litigated as we speak.
Before moving on to discussion on Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, I realized there were a few people I failed to mention in my last Substack. Josh Hamilton, Melissa Bruckner, Dr. Kathleen Ruddy, Nick Goldberg, Ron Severson, and Mike Orloff stepped up and directly contributed to F4F’s success. They gave their time and they still do.
Brian Lombardi had the most difficult role as F4F’s treasurer and he killed it, but in my opinion… if F4F had a most valuable player (MVP) in 2023… It would have to be Melissa. She encouraged steely resolve and generated energy when we needed it most.
Project 2025
Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 is a non-profit program worthy of everyone’s attention. Like myself, many F4F members are ideologically conservative. It is important to emphasize that conservatism is not a political party, it is an ideology that believes in fiscal responsibility, traditional family values, and strengthening of our institutions.
Project 2025 intends to develop governing agenda and identify qualified applicants to fill appointment roles in a new conservative government structure. The four pillars of the program build on the Mandate for Leadership, a book detailing a policy agenda that can be implemented on day one of a conservative Presidential transition. The other pillars are include below.
If you are interested in getting involved individually, please go to the website and sign up. F4F is on Project 2025’s advisory board and has submitted a number of resumes on the behalf of its members. If you are interested in having F4F submit your resume, please email jim@fedsforfreedom.org.
Educate Yourself… You choose or others will for you.
In 2019, I received permission from my previous employer to incorporate an LLC providing educational, and self-advancement products. I incorporated Liberty Lad, established the website www.libertylad.com, and shot out a handful of videos on youtube.
Liberty Lad LLC (L4C) was never meant to be a full time profession or even a money-maker. I just wanted to dip my toes into entrepreneurial endeavors and support a growing area of interest for concerned parents: home schooling. I wanted to supplement my son’s curriculum with content I felt necessary to round out deficiencies in his program.
If circumstances were different, I would be homeschooling my son. The last three years, among other lessons, taught us we need to seek alternatives if we want our children to meet the high expectations we previously assumed could be achieved in a public school. The Cleveland school system in the 70s and 80s was fantastic. I mean that without irony or sarcasm.

Many parents are distraught over the subversive turn emerging from deceptively milquetoast and seemingly benign diversity and equity initiatives. Parents’ rights and protections have been chipped away with increasingly invasive measures designed to strip our right to determine how we raise our children.
COVID may have side-tracked my blossoming interest in entrepreneurial efforts and growing interest in home-schooling, but there are always silver linings. I was able to refine my focus and I intend to relaunch the L4C website. Slight edits have already been introduced. It will still provide homeschooling products, but it will also emphasize the need to do your own research.
The world has woken up to the need to be able to quickly investigate, assess the validity of the information, and integrate disparate fields of inquiry into a comprehensive result. Research and investigative work is an area where I have a good bit of experience, and I want to provide you with the tools to self-educate.
This Substack has been one of my COVID silver linings. I intend to keep the members of F4F up to date on lawsuits, accountability, and issues of importance to the freedom movement. It will also supplement my website as it gets retooled to provide primarily free resources to help parents and individuals make wise choices about education, medical care, or any topic of investigatory interest.
Quick spoiler… I want to provide some tutorials on investigative measures using tools like Crunchbase, ZOOM Business, LinkedIn, Ancestry.com, social media, and other lesser known and free platforms that can yield valuable information…
I am a hands-on learner. I need to dive into real world examples to really understand a topic. I am not someone who learns by reading an instruction manual. With that in mind, I will provide examples of these investigatory, self-education tools of inquiry using projects I intend to pursue this year.
I have three big L4C projects I am working on completing related to COVID and will provide some step-by-step do your own research methodologies to get folks started in their own areas of interest. I am hoping to get the first project complete by October 2024, the other two will probably be complete sometime in 2025. If there were 2000 founding members, I would drop everything and complete the projects on a full time basis, but … if you are going to drop your support anywhere, please make sure to support F4F first. That legacy will last far longer than my pontification’s on self-education.
If you are interested in home schooling or self-education, please check out the following two links. Ron Paul’s home school products, in my opinion, are the best ones out there. Tom Woods’ Liberty Classroom and School of Life are unique and they offer tons of content you can’t find anywhere else.
If you don’t mind repeated requests for funding, you can also check out free courses offered on the Hillsdale College website.

Parting thoughts
Like I mentioned in my last Substack, Reflections on the Longest Year, there are many silver linings and reasons to be hopeful in 2024. I am an optimist and believe the world is filled with good people. When I think about what I plan to do in 2024, all of it is tied by one unifying theme. I want to care for and protect my family. My interests all are in close orbit around the people who are most close to me. I am hope your plans are filled with ambitious, happy, soul-enriching things as well.
